Step 1: Choose and Prepare Your Vessel

You can use any heat-safe, reusable candle jar you already love — or one of reativ’s reusable ceramic vessels.

Make sure it’s:

• Around 9 cm in diameter (or add an extra wick for larger jars)

• Heat-safe glass, ceramic, or metal that was once a candle (avoid thin glass that can crack)

• Clean and wax-free (check out our How to Clean Candle Jars guide if you need help)

Step 2: Melt Your Wax

Each reativ candle refill comes in a microwavable, compostable pouch.

Simply heat pouch in the microwave for 2 minutes. repeat until melted.

No double boiler. No thermometers. No stress.

Step 3: Add Fragrance

Once the wax is fully melted, carefully add the fragrance oil (included in every kit).

Stir gently to evenly distribute the scent.

Step 4: Pour and Set

1. Stick the wick to the centre of your vessel.

2. Slowly pour in the melted wax.
   

3. Ensure top of wick is centred with your wick holder.

4. Let your candle set for two hours.

Pro tip: Place your vessel on a cooling rack for an even set.

Step 5: Trim and Burn

Once set, trim the wick to around 5mm before lighting. This helps your candle burn cleanly and evenly, without excess smoke or mushrooming.

To get the most out of your candle, let the wax pool all the way to the edges before extinguishing.
